Queenstown has a number of excellent playgrounds to keep kids active at any time of year. Each of these six playgrounds listed below have great views over Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountain ranges.
1. Main Beach Playground:
This playground is perfectly located next to
The Bathhouse Café , making it easy to enjoy lunch while the kids swing, slide or maybe even swim during summer.
2. St Omer Playground:
Overlooking Lake Wakatipu, St. Omer Playground is located just a short (ten minute) walk or pram-push along Lake Esplanade from Queenstown itself. There are also toilets and a picnic and barbecue area.
3. Queenstown Botanic Gardens:
The playground here is located next to Queenstown Ice Arena and features a skate park which, is especially suitable for older children. It is pleasant just to wander around the Botanic Gardens or along
The Queenstown Cycle Trail .
4. Man Street Playground:
Located near the campground, this playground overlooks Queenstown and is just down the road from the Skyline Gondola.
5. Jack's Point Playground:
Jack's Point features a cool mega tunnel slide, flying fox and climbing frame. There is a restaurant conveniently located nearby, however Jack's Point is not centrally located for those staying in Queenstown.
6. Hope Avenue Playground:
Lake Hayes is a popular outdoor recreation venue and the playground here is no exception. The climbing boulder is always a great challenge, as is the climbing frame and flying fox. There are bike trails, toilets, barbecues and a café onsite.
