Best Pubs to Watch Cricket

Each year, thousands of men around Australia go into hibenation for the cricket. With a little preparation, this year can be your best cricket season ever.
You may enjoy watching the cricket at a pub, where you'll enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow Aussies (and, if you're lucky, find a Pom or two to heckle.) Popular sports bars like the Normanby Hotel (1 Musgrave Road, Red Hill), the Pig n Whistle (locations at Indooroopilly, Queen Street Mall and Riverside) and the Manly Hotel (54 Cambridge Parade, Manly) are well equipped for cricket broadcast.
If you love to play just as much as you love to watch, you'll be happy to know that the Pineapple Hotel (706 Main Street, Kangaroo Point) hires out cricket sets to patrons. Enjoy a game in neighbouring Raymond Park.
The downside of going to a pub is fighting the crowds. If you'd rather stay at home, make sure you set yourself up before the games begin. The ideal cricket watching venue should have a good TV, comfy couch and air conditioning. Hopefully this will be your house; if not, it's time to befriend the neighbour, co-worker or brother-in-law with the sweet pad.
Have a TV Guide handy to ensure that you don't miss a minute of the action and stock up on cold beer. A couch-side esky means you won't miss precious seconds making trips to the fridge.
Hopefully, your holidays will coincide with cricket season. If not, telling the boss you have chicken pox or gastro should get you at least a week away from the office.
