If you plan on visiting the
Nelson Bay region with your kids, then you will want to stay somewhere with a good pool and some fun entertainment! There are various accommodation options around the Bay, with resort-style luxury at
Amarna Luxury Beach Resort and
Bannisters Port Stephens, to relaxed family
holiday parks by the beach. There is no shortage of accommodation, but if you are visiting Nelson Bay in the
school holidays or on a long weekend, then you need to book early - it gets very busy!
My family and I have stayed at a few accommodation options (before we moved here permanently) and found our favourites, that our daughter particularly enjoyed. Have you stayed somewhere with the kids and they absolutely
loved it? If so, I would love to hear about it! Please leave a comment at the top of this article and it will be shown underneath, for others to read. If the kids are happy, the holiday away goes so much easier.
Where is your favourite?

Cabin Parks are located all along the coastline and most have pools, games rooms and fun kids activities. There are holiday parks at
Fingal Bay,
Little Beach,
Shoal Bay, and
Soldiers Point, which are run by the council. There are also
Ingenia Holiday Parks at Soldiers Point and One Mile Beach. My family and I stayed at
BIG4 Ingenia Holiday Park at Soldiers Point and my daughter thought she had landed in paradise - there was a large pool, games room, trampolines, tennis courts and a
club next door for dinner (also with a playground). Take the bikes and scooters and watch your kids be active, all day long!
Mantra Aqua Nelson Bay was a different kind of holiday experience, as it had beautiful self-contained apartments with all the comforts of home and it was just walking distance to the Nelson Bay town centre. This convenient location is ideal when it comes to dinner, as you can walk to
Nelson Bay Bowling Club,
Nelson Bay Golf Club or any of the restaurants in town. It has a variety of 2 and 3-bedroom apartments for larger families and it also has a stunning pool right in the centre. It is a
family friendly option with full-size kitchens, if you like to cook at your accommodation to save money on restaurants.

These are just some of the family-friendly accommodation options around the Nelson Bay region - you are sure to find many more. Each venue will be close to the stunning Port Stephens coastline, with bright blue water and
water activities to do all day long. Your kids will be so busy outside, that they won't even want to go on their iPads!
