Let's face it, we ALL love watching the fireworks displays on New Year's Eve and with every year they just seem to get bigger and better. The disadvantage to all of us wanting the same thing on the same night, is that it can be really tough to jostle for that perfect position on the beach, never mind having to find parking beforehand.

With this in mind, here are four spots (they are secret, I hope you understand) to getting an excellent viewing platform to watch the firework displays without the crowds. I'm happy to share mine with you and hoping that you'll be happy to reciprocate and share yours too.

1. Point Cartwright Reserve

Mooloolaba is one of the most popular destinations for New Year's Eve on the Sunshine Coast and tends to host one of the biggest parties of the year on this special night, so naturally we all want to be here, don't we? It's just the 'other' 40,000 plus visitors that put a dampener on it for us - imagine finding a parking spot. Point Cartwright Reserve is a great alternative, providing sensational views of Mooloolaba from across the water, while also affording the opportunity for a somewhat quieter and more relaxed vantage point to enjoy the displays from across the way.

2. La Balsa Park

A little way along from Point Cartwright in Harbour Parade, Buddina, is a stunning stretch of parkland known as La Balsa Park. Besides the great vantage spot La Balsa Park provides of the Mooloolaba skyline, ensuring we won't miss a minute of the firework displays, the facilities that are available here to be enjoyed are also exceptional. A whole family evening can be spent here, utilising the barbecues, shelter and the playground, while waiting for the countdown to the New Year.

3. Kings Beach

If being in the middle of the action is the aim of your game, then look no further than Kings Beach. Kings Beach as well as Lions Park is the central spot for the Caloundra New Year's Eve festivities, featuring a variety of rides and stalls to keep one entertained until the spotlight event happens. You might have to elbow your way in to find a spot on the beach with everybody else to enjoy the spectacular fireworks.

4. Golden Beach

Golden Beach is a picturesque little town that has its own beach and sensational stretch of parklands across the shoreline. The big plus to Golden Beach is that this shoreline is directly across from Kings Beach, where the Caloundra fireworks display is happening, so if you want to avoid the crowds and watch from a distance, this is the place to be. Parking should be much easier too.

& #127881 ; So, are you a 'centre-of-the-action' sort of person, or do you prefer to be on the 'outside, looking in'? Either way, where would your favourite spot be to watch the spectacular firework displays on the Sunshine Coast? & #127881 ;
