Where's the Best Place to Pick Fruit Around Brisbane

Sweet, succulent fruit. Desserts aren't complete without the fresh colours, aromas and flavour of fruit. Supermarkets deliver fruit to your doorstep but go to the farm for the pick of the crop.

Even if you don't have a garden, you can visit these farms on a day trip from Brisbane to sample sweet strawberries. On longer drives, you can pick olives, pumpkins and grapes.



  • McMartin's Farm – Sports Rd, Bli Bli, beside the Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary
  • Drive 1 hour north on the Bruce Highway to pick strawberries and mandarins between June and October at this farm. Treat yourself with award-winning gourmet strawberry ice-cream, jams and Devonshire tea.

    The severe rain and cold weather brought by the La Niña weather pattern has affected the strawberry crops in 2022. You can still PYO mandarins and there are some strawberries available.

    Check the Facebook page before your visit in case the popular crops are picked clean.

    McMartin's is open 7 days from 8.30am – 4.30pm.

  • Rolin Farms – 124-190 Rutters Road, Elimbah
  • It's only 50km north of the CBD to pick strawberries at our closest pick-you-own farm.

    Rolin's opens from June to October, 8am – 4pm for picking. Peak season is August and September.
    Plenty of first-grade fruit is on sale. The rain has affected the look of some fruit, but they are still delicious and on special, only $20 for 2 kgs. Perfect for jams.

    The team also sell ice-cream, jams, orchids and host special events, including weddings, children's parties and lunches.

  • Stanthorpe Farm – 2 West Road, Stanthorpe

  • You can pick your own strawberries and buy an assortment of strawberry-inspired products, including jams, ice-cream, candles, soaps, slices and sauces.

    They also serve desserts, ice-cream, tea and coffee in the cafe after you've filled your punnets. Visit them in-season from late March to May, 8am - 3pm. The season was cut short in 2022 due to severe rain.

    If you've got a knack for it, apply to join their team , picking from 6am - 2pm, or packing punnets from 10am - 6.30pm.

  • Chambers Flat – 912 Chambers Flat Road, Chambers Flat
  • During August, September and October between 9am-4pm, you can pick your own strawberries at Chambers Flat Strawberry Farm.

    All year round, Monday-Saturday, the shop is open, serving sweet ice-cream.

    In November 2018, former prime minister Scott Morrison visited for the last day in the PYO season .
