Perhaps I've not discovered them all but there seems to be limited art and craft physical shops around Sydney. Although there are endless options of buying supplies online, sometimes it is better to examine the items before purchasing them especially those that cost more. As an amateur art and craft hobbyist, I'm often on the lookout for affordable craft supplies stores around Sydney.
These are some of the stores I've come across:
Paper embossing heat gun
1. Riot Art & Craft
Riot Art & Craft offers a huge range of craft supplies for wood craft, candle making, scrapbooking, beading and sewing. You can find specific tools for certain types of crafts here such as embossing heat gun which is used for paper embossing in handmade card or scrapbook. There are also different embossing templates by popular brand - Cuttlebug at discounted price (selected items). Where: Various locations Website: Riot Art & Craft
Most of the products here are made in Japan. Everything in this store regardless big or small, is priced only at $2.80 per item. Although Daiso Japan is not specialized in carrying art & craft supplies, it is still a great option to shop for accessories for craft work such as felt, ribbons, origami paper, coloured wrapping paper, and Japanese washi tapes. Clear stamps in different designs / theme
3. Eckersley's Art & Craft With Eckersley's, you can either walk-in to its shops in various locations or buy online. Albeit the price here is slightly more expensive, it offers quality products from well-known brands like Jasart and Kaisercraft. There are a variety of craft supplies here especially stamping and specialty paper. Where: Various locations Website: Eckersley's Store
4. Dollar King
The art and stationery section at Dollar King offers some decent craft supplies if you are looking for something thrifty such as popsicle sticks, glittery powder / glue, foam, and many more. For a dollar or two, you can also get a decent stamping ink pad in various colours. Where: Various locations Website: Dollar King Store

Have you tried Alice in Paperland in Rydalmere? There's 450sq/m of scrapbooking, cardmaking and invitation supplies. They also have oodles of embellishments and ribbons. It's a one stop shop and the prices are excellent as it's a factory outlet.
