I have a few secrets to share with you on the best places to buy antiques/vintage or retro on the Mornington Peninsula.

Yes there are some obvious one's thrown in as well, because you can't beat them, they are iconic.

Over the years I have scoured nearly all antique stores, markets, fairs and so on to collect items. It does get obsessive and I want to give my secret places away. I don't need any more antiques, though I will never say no to antique children's toys.

In no particular order here they are:
The Bottom Drawer in Moorooduc is a nice place to start. You will find a good mix of items at reasonable to expensive items.

The Factory Antiques once known as Flash Trash (my favourite name) is operated by the same man who ran Mornington Antique Centre, before Masters was built on the site. I like the feel of this place, nothing pretentious and fair prices.

The Vintage Shed is one of my favourites, you will find many cool things here and the stock is always turned over quickly, so you will always see something new. With 60 different stall holders each with their own unique style and taste, it caters for everyone.

My secret place is The Mornington Tip Shop or if you prefer the proper name Outlook Recycling Shop. You may not think this sounds very good at all, but, this is where a lot of dealers come to buy stock. It is amazing what has come through the doors here. However you need to be there at the right times because there are regulars that visit many times daily. You will find it on Racecourse Rd Mornington Ph: 59736511

Tyabb Packing House is one of the most recognised antique shops in Australia. It covers a massive 2 acres and has been operating for 30 years. You will find lovely genuine antiques here, but expect to pay top dollar.

Other great places you may not have thought of are Dromana Drive In market and the weekly Frankston trash and treasure market . If you know what you are looking at, you can find some great buys at either one.

Maybe you have a great antique shop to share?
