Seeking the best place for lazy brunches and all day breakfast menus. Cafes with healthy options that don't leave me wanting a nap afterwards, that cater for dietary intolerances, have outdoor seating, friendly and efficient service, and quiet areas for that Sunday recovery brunch.

My pick (ignoring the service) for Prahran, Tall Timber at 60 Commercial Road. Bustling inside, and a quiet outdoor courtyard with a large communal table, this place caters for all, and serves up healthy, tasty delights.

My friends and I recommend the following selections:

For protein lovers, eggs benedict on slow cooked pork shoulder will fill you up for the day, but may have your arteries clogging! For special treats only! Perhaps counterbalance it with a fruit juice!

For the "allergic to everything" diners, select from eggs, tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, bacon, avocado, goats cheese, salmon, and beetroot relish to make up your own breakfast.

For the health conscious, sauteed kale, asparagus, green beans with poached eggs, almonds, quinoa loaf and goats curd is the perfect choice. I keep going back for this time and time again!

For those who don't do brunch, opt for something from the lunch menu such as a chicken salad, or a freshly prepared sandwich or sweet treat from the display cabinet.

My very favourite brunch place is C H James in station street Fairfield. Service is great. Food is amazing and all made in house. The gravlax is beautiful as are the sausages. Sometimes I want to be in the sunny kitchen garden courtyard and sometimes inside. Coffee is excellent!
