The lunch special is $10.95 for each diner which includes an 8 inch pizza of your choosing plus a drink. On our first visit, my friend and I both chose the Marinated Chargrilled Lamb pizza, a delicious blend of marinated lamb backstrap, fetta, onions, tomatoes and a Caesar sauce. The pizza was delicious, particularly with the added component of crunchy sweet potato crisps.
For our second visit, we chose two different pizzas. My friend ordered the Peking Duck with a hoi sin base. When her dish arrived, we were surprised - where was the duck, gone for a waddle in the rain? In contrast, my order of Grilled Chicken Tandoori with a mango chutney and yoghurt dressing had chunks of chicken.
The portions on my friend's pizza were deceptive. The duck was sliced very thinly, in comparison to my chunky chicken pizza. We tasted each other's dish and they both tasted superb. We left Bondi Pizza very happy customers.
The next journey into pizza universe was at GPK (Gourmet Pizza Kitchen, for the uninitiated) at Chatswood.
I ordered the Kathmandu with chicken marinated in tandoori spices, capsicum, broccoli, with a to-die-for mango chutney and a curry coconut sauce. The Kathmandu pizza was a standout. All the components on this pizza came together in a spectacular taste encounter.
The food is alright but gotta say the Ryde Bondi Pizza staff were not very hospitable to even ask their neighbouring restaurant to keep their music down on New Years Eve (it's gonna be 2018). It matters to me because my sisters got a cochlear implant. Also we gotta ask for water 3 times and then go up to them to ask for the water and they bring the water when it suits them.
