Discuss your needs with dog owners and breeders
I love dog shows, in fact I just love dogs. On Sunday 10th July, the Malanda Show Society will be hosting a Championship Dog Show at Jack May Park. The dog show is part of this year's centenary celebrations of the Malanda Show.

Malanda is a small town on the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland. The town was first developed in the early 1900s after the discovery of copper and tin in Herberton; however these days it is known for Malanda milk and cheese. Malanda Milk is sold in the Northern Territory and as far north as Weipa. It is also exported to Malaysia and Indonesia.
The name 'Malanda' comes from the Aboriginal word for 'waterfalls' and the northern entrance to the town passes the Malanda Falls. It is recorded that the falls were created from the last flow of lava of the Malanda Shield Volcano. The cascade of the waterfall is just four metres.

There will be more than 185 dogs displaying their best poses on Sunday. Special guest judge Ms Diane Cuthbert from South Australia will be attending and Dogs Queensland General Manager was reported as saying that this dog show is amongst the most important events in a local pedigree dog owner's calendar. With that in mind, this event is sure to be a vocal point among locals and guests all over Australia.
Anyone with an interest in dogs; this is the day where you can take a walk through the dog pavilions, chat to owners and breeders while also sit back and watch the judging. You may just find a dog that captures your heart and also find a breed that is suitable to your home environment and conditions.
