The man who made this happen in Maleny is Kim Kirkman (formally from the Ten Tenors) who helped found The Inspiration choir four years ago and who has since also formed choirs in Caloundra and Beachmere.
He is also well known in the area as a therapeutic harpist.
The first of the Inspiration Choir's yearly concerts was Purcell's "Dido and Aeneas" in May 2016 which won them the honour of an invitation to Woodford Festival where a packed audience gave their rendition of Vivaldi's "Gloria" a standing ovation.
And now they are giving us music by Bach – with the Sunshine Coast Orchestra.
They will be singing Chorales 1 and 6, Jesu Meine Freude, Church cantatas BWV 150 and BWV 140, Jesu bleibet meine freude, plus solos and duets, the orchestral also plays Brandenburg no 2 and Suite no 3.
So if you want to hear a community choir singing their heart out make your way to Landsborough School of Arts on the 18th or the 20th of May, and be ready to be a part of the celebration of timeless beauty. You can pay (all of $15) at the door.
