Some of them are located in the City itself, while others are on Long Island. There are several wineries in and around the area, so you can spend several weekends visiting a different one each time. City Winery

Pugliese Vineyards

Take a trip out to the North Fork of Long Island and visit Pugliese Vineyards. This family-owned and operated vineyard has been in business since 1980, and specializes in several different kinds of wine, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and others. They also offer some amazing champagne wines as well as port wine varieties.

Live entertainment is often presented at Pugliese Vineyards on certain Saturday afternoons. Visit the website to find out which wines are available for sampling and which Saturdays you can enjoy live music from artists such as the Home Fries band.

Laurel Lake Vineyards

On your next visit to the North Fork of Long Island, stop in at Laurel Lake Vineyards. When you see the natural surroundings of this area, you may wonder if you've completely left the State of New York, but don't worry. You're still not that far from "The City that Never Sleeps."

Before you go, check to see if the day you are planning on visiting is one of those in which wine tours are offered. If it is, you can tour the winery, then go to the tasting room for a sample of some of the best wines in New York. Enjoy them at the bar or on the two-story deck that afford you a spectacular view of the vineyards. Depending on the day of your visit, you may also get to enjoy live entertainment. Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard

It took Sam Rubin a few years to find the perfect site for his farm, but he finally did so, on the North Fork of Long Island. For years, he operated a successful farm, growing different crops and plants, but decided to try his hand at growing wine grapes when he noticed that becoming a common practice in and around Suffolk County.

The results of Sam's decision, coupled with the sound business ones made by his son Richard, led to birth of Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard. Today, this vineyard is one of the most well-known ones in Suffolk County. Sam is aging as well as his fine wines are, and still works in the vineyards. On the day of your tour, you're likely to see him among the grapevines or personally checking out the wine-making process.
