If you are or were a fan of Sex and the City, the TV series and the two movies, then you know that one of the favorite pastimes of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte was drinking martinis at their favorite martini bars in New York City. Some of them were merely stage settings, but others actually exist; one was actually the premise for the martini bar owned by Aidan.

Martini bars are good places to meet up with girlfriends (or anyone for that matter) after work or before or after catching a Broadway show. They usually have an elegant atmosphere, but that doesn't mean they're stuffy. After, the SATC girls weren't going to go anywhere that didn't allow them to have a little fun.

Choose from any of these martini bars below, and you'll feel just like your favorite character in this hilarious, sometimes very ribald comedy series. Enjoy the sights and sounds of New York City while you sip your Cosmo or other favorite martini, just like the SATC girls did.

Blue Fin, 1567 Broadway at 47th Street

This is actually a seafood and sushi restaurant, but it has a martini bar inside the restaurant. You can enjoy your favorite martini while watching the people pass by at street level. This is possible because the bar is enclosed with glass, making it the perfect place for celebrity-spotting or just enjoying the hustle and bustle that is New York City.

The Volsted, 125 E 54th Street

Located right smack dab in the middle of Midtown Manhattan, this bar gets its name from the gentleman who was responsible for instituting Prohibition. Recognition of his role in history is shown not only in the name of this whiskey bar but also in the speakeasy atmosphere, although it's been modernized.

You want to dress up a little to visit this whiskey bar, but, hey, who doesn't enjoy an opportunity to get all "gussied up", at least every now and then?

O'Nieals Grand Street, 174 Grand Street

This is the bar that "Scout", the bar opened by Aidan and seen in many Sex and the City episodes was patterned after. You'll enjoy having a drink at what can actually be considered an authentic SATC site.

There are even some martinis named after the different SATC characters available here, so order the one that was inspired by your favorite character. Then, imagine yourself waiting for Mr. Big or whoever might enter your life.
