Boutiques are stores that specialize in only one or just a few things. For example, a boutique may only carry a certain designer's label while another carries different labels but only a certain type of product, such as dresses or other items. No matter which type of boutique you are looking, you're sure to find one in New York City that carries exactly what you're looking. We've listed a few below to give you an idea of what the "Big Apple" has to offer.

Dolce & Gabbana, 825 Madison Avenue

This boutique specializes in anything Dolce & Gabbana, but only Dolce & Gabbana. That doesn't mean your selection is limited to one specific thing, however, because the Dolce & Gabbana graces not only clothes and accessories, but also food (there is a Dolce Gabbana Gold Restaurant) and music (the writers of the label's magazine "Swide" choose different artists and music genres to recommend to their patrons). This is a very upscale boutique, but the stuff you buy will be worth every penny. The merchandise is high-quality and epitomizes the luxury and class that is indicative of this well-known label.

Off Broadway Boutique, 139 W 72nd Street

This boutique makes no bones about the fact that its one intent and purpose is to make its customers look glamorous, and do so in such a way that people will immediately know their clothing and accessories came from this particular store. They do this by conveying a certain "personality" to every piece they sell.

You can find clothing and accessories for all times of day and all occasions. And, don't worry if you're not a "perfect" size anything. Off Broadway Boutique carries one-size-fits-all clothing as well as plus-size pieces, so everyone can find something to wear.

Aloha Rag, 505 Greenwich Street

If this sounds like some place that should be in California or Hawaii (well, the company's home base is Hawaii) don't let that fool you. This boutique carries fashion items that work anywhere, no matter where in the United States you are located.

Some of the brands, such as Guiseppi Zanotti's shoes for Balmain, are recognizable. Others will most likely be totally new to you. But, that's all right, because finding new and unusual things is what makes shopping at a New York City boutique so much fun.

Steven Alan, 103 Franklin Street

This is a boutique, but what a boutique it is! It sells everything from women's and men's fashions (the latest styles, at that) to jewelry to things for the home. In addition, you can find beach wear, lounge and swimwear, and even some clothing items for girls. The styles are basic but very chic, so you can wear them practically everywhere. Colors are bright, and add a touch of beauty to already attractive garments, accessories, and other items.
