Where can we take our Mums for some quality time this Mother's Day? Not too expensive, not too stingy, relaxing, refreshing, creative, exciting, adventurous?
Mums are as unique and varied as Melbourne's day trip options! Share your favourites with us?
Here are three day trips for three very different Mums, or maybe not so different, as I would thoroughly enjoy all three; what are you doing with your Mum this Mother's Day?:
THE PAMPERED MUM: Fancy a mini-spa day with Mum? For only $44 per person (only $31 weekdays), you and Mum can have access to the Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa's Relaxation and Spa Pool, followed by Devonshire tea of fresh house-baked scones, jam and cream, and your choice of tea or coffee (more on the Pavilion Cafe here).
THE CREATIVE MUM: Yarra Valley Chocolatarie is offering their Chocolate Club members exclusive access to booking their special "Mum's Only" chocolate making class, The Art of Chocolate Making.
Learn from French & Belgian Chocolatiers, with tips and tricks for working with couverture chocolate, during a hands-on, one hour workshop. Tickets are $70, and they promise to include plenty of tastings, as well as a collection of creations to take home; if you haven't had your fill by the time your class is over, there is a cafe on site.
Mother's Day weekend only; bookings essential: Call 9730 2777, Monday - Friday 9am-5pm to book your tickets.
THRILL SEEKING MUM: Would your Mum rather surf in the trees than soak in the spa? Send her tree surfing! The High Ropes Adventure course at the Enchanted Adventure Garden (Enchanted Maze) in Arthur's Seat has an incredible new tree surfing challenge. Tree surfing for adults is $59 and includes park entry fees. There is a Little Nippers course too, if you've got younger kids that would like to have a go. Grab an espresso before your booking (or perhaps a tea to calm you down afterward?) at the onsite cafe.
