Where's the Best Medical Centre on the Sunshine Coast?

Is this the flu, a cold, allergies or all in 'my head'?

How does one find a good family doctor on the Sunshine Coast?

We've only been on the Sunshine Coast for a year and after having the same doctor in Brisbane for 14 years, I'm finding it a bit daunting to start all over again. Yes, I know there's a doctor on every corner, a pathologist on every second corner and medical centres all over the place, but honestly when there's such a huge choice, HOW does one choose?



We have Suncoast Christian Health Centre, who are open 24/7 with a doctor on-site at all times, but I'm not sure if a place that caters for every emergency under the sun is the place to find a homily, caring family doctor if one just wants to chat! But, I must add they're fantastic with emergencies and I have had personal experience of their caring in just such a situation.



Then there's Ochre Medical Centre - classified as a Superclinic - boasting 3000m2 of space, spread over two floors. This Centre newly opened in March 2014 and currently enjoys a wide range of supporting allied health services. My question is with so many doctors available, what assurances do I have that I can see the same one twice - should I be in the fortunate position of finding one that I 'connect' with!




We also have Buderim Medical Centre, who appear to have a very extensive list of services on offer including: Aged Health Care (I'm not THAT old yet, am I?); Antenatal Care (hoping this category is no longer applicable to me); Travel Advice and Vaccinations (I could definitely get some use out of this one) plus many, many more. Perhaps a visit here might bring on the elusive family doctor?




So, we get back to my dilemma - where does one start - who's your favourite family doctor, someone who likes to sit and chat?
