The local Leisure Centre is a great place for a swim, some exercise or even a birthday party. Some centres are better than others but all generally offer a variety of fitness classes, swimming classes, and leisure activities, suitable for all ages.
These community centres house loads of facilities such as heated swimming pools, outdoor pools, gym equipment, sports halls, kidies play areas, spa, sauna and steam rooms and sometimes a cafe. Most areas in and around Perth have a leisure centre, but where is the best leisure centre in Perth?
Beatty Park Leisure Centre
Beatty Park Leisure Centre in North Perth is one of the oldest and greatest in the area, and it has recently been fully refurbished. There is a 50m and a 30m outdoor pool plus an activities pool and a 'learn to swim' pool. Beatty Park Leisure Centre has an all new air-conditioned Gym, fully equipped with brand new state of the art equipment.
The Fremantle Leisure Centre has been a popular place for a swim for many, many years. There are four indoor and outdoor pools, which are being fully upgraded and will officially re-open shortly. The centre also has a gym and runs fitness classes. There is a lovely poolside cafe where you can grab a coffee as you watch your kids splash about in the pool or take swimming lessons.
The popular South Lake Leisure Centre has a 25m heated pool, outdoor area, water slides, sports courts, a fully equipped gym, spa, sauna and steam rooms, creche and child minding facilities, and much more. They offer all sorts of fun aquatic and non-aquatic classes for children and adults.
The Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre has a number of swimming options for swimmers of all levels. Choose from the indoor, outdoor or lap pool and after your swim or work-out enjoy some time in the spa, sauna and steam room. The Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre has a Health Club, a fully equipped Gym and a Swim Club, plus they offer group fitness classes or individual assistance with a personal trainer,
Leisure Centres are great for kids and adults, because it means that you can swim all year round, use the gym or join a class, all for a reasonable casual price.
These are just some of the leisure centres in and around Perth. If you know of a really good one please let us know - where is the best leisure centre in Perth?
More research is needed in the accuracy of what each centre has available (ie) Belmont oasis leisure centre does not keep a steam room for use, in actual never has,
If you were thinking to visit after reading the write up's check with each centre to be certain they offer what is written or you may become disappointed on arrival
Quite right! I have been to Bayswater waves and actually used their Sauna, Steam room and Spa and it also has another small indoor pool right next to it. So you can rotate around all these with ease. Only thing is the lockers are over near the kiosk which means you better have a good(big) towel or you might get a bit cold walking back.
