There's a new chicken dish winning hearts and hungry tummies on the Central Coast. Korean Fried Chicken (also known as the other KFC) is known for its unique combination of being crunchy on the outside but tender and flavourful on the inside, and topped with a variety of sauces to appeal to different palates. Have you had a taste of Korean Fried Chicken yet?On the Central Coast, my family and I have tried three outlets offering equally delicious versions of Korean Fried Chicken which in our opinion are the best:
Chick'n Chick'n is a takeaway outlet with a few outdoor tables if you can't wait until you get home to partake of your fried chicken. Orders come in cardboard takeaway boxes - full size for families or half size good for 1-3 people, and are served with pickled radish and rice cake cylinders. Located at the Chapman Building on Alison Road, Wyong, Chick'n has fast become a local favourite due to its sumptuous flavours and prompt turnaround of orders. With flavours like Tangy Charcoal Fried Chicken, Classic Honey Mustard, Curry Butter, Sweet & Spicy, Snow Cheese, and Korean Smokey BBQ, there is something for everyone. Chick'n is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11: 30 am to 2: 30 pm for lunch and 4: 30 pm to 7 pm for dinner, and on Sundays from 11: 30 am to 2: 30 pm or until sold out (which happens quite fast). How to order: Simply turn up to the store via Alison Road or Hely Street in Wyong and enter the courtyard Chick'n shares with Glee Coffee. The typical wait is ten minutes for your in-store order. Chicken V Chicken V is a food court outlet located at the Imperial Centre in Gosford. If you prefer your fried chicken as part of a meal, Chicken V offers meals with hot chips or rice as well as pork and vegetarian meals and side dishes. They also have 6 piece or 9 piece sampler boxes so you can taste the different fried chicken variants available. Among the flavours are seasoned, soy, curry, onion, shallot, snowflakes, traditional, crazy hot, and honey butter. Chicken V is open from 930 am to 6 pm, Monday to Saturday and is closed on Sundays. Hanok Korean BBQ Hanok Korean BBQ is a full-service Korean BBQ restaurant located at the outdoor food precinct in Westfield Tuggerah. While its main offering is Korean BBQ, included in Hanok's menu is a large serving of Sweet & Spicy deep-fried chicken (boneless) that complements the rest of the restaurant's fare. So if you are after the full Korean gastronomic experience, give Hanok a try.
