Kebabs are a popular lunch, dinner or snack on the Goldie, and with good reason. Kebabs can be rather healthy and filling. There are a fair few kebab establishments around on the Gold Coast, especially where all kebabs are priced the same. So where exactly is the best one? And is still the best one regardless of the day of the week, or the time of day and season?
A tricky one, yet after some hunting around, Ozi Kebab on Surfers Paradise is a winner. Why so? Firstly, the ingredients they use are really fresh, well stocked and really appetising, especially the tomatoes. That is a good start. The service is also rather efficient. A chicken, mixed or doner kebab, or a felafel will set you back $9.50, yet Ozi Kebabs are rather generous. Yours truly was struggling to eat half of it for dinner, having not eaten a few hours earlier. They don't skimp on any of the fillings, and especially the meat and sauce. Just have a few tissues with you, you'll need them.
The kebab stop right near the beach that plays dance music (as per the image above, yet for the life of me cannot remember their name) also make some tasty kebabs. Furthermore, Theo's Kebabs is also a well presented store, and there is something about the way they grill the chicken in their chicken kebabs. In continuing to be open and honest, it has been a while since yours truly has enjoyed a kebab from Theo's Kebabs, also on Surfers Paradise.
For value for money Ozi Kebabs is a standout. Maybe size does matter after all. Ensure you have an appetite, and you might need to drink a fair bit of water afterwards. Leave the soft drink at home.
