Snacks and delicious treats that make turning vegan easy
With more and more people becoming vegan, we take a look at some of the easiest ways to start dabbling with a meat-free and dairy-free diet. Whether it is comfort food, chocolate treats or snacks, these vegan delights could help you take the first step towards turning vegan.
Vegan chocolate that is Divine
Divine ethical cocoa and chocolate bars
Fairtrade company Divine offers over 25 vegan certified chocolate options from baking bars to after-dinner mints - including its rich cocoa made with 100% cocoa butter.
The range is all palm oil-free and made with natural ingredients and includes a luxurious chocolate cocoa, ideal for a hot chocolate or putting into your next bake.
A cocoa co-operative of family farmers in Ghana, called Kuapa Kokoo, owns a stake in Divine, which means the farmers receive a share of the profits they help to create, giving them more to invest in their families, farms and communities, so you can feel good while topping up your chocolate intake too.

Kallø stock cubes
You may not feel ready to dive right into the meat-free recipes forever but how about starting with the minor ingredients and building up a change in your diet, bit by bit? Kallø, which also makes rice cakes, has organic stock cubes which are plant-based plus gluten-free and lactose-free.
The range includes Organic Mushroom and Organic Garlic & Herb stock. While new additions are Organic Sriracha, which is spicy and sweet as a base for something more adventurous, and Organic Umami, which translates as 'essence of deliciousness' in Japanese, is renowned for the richness and depth of flavour it adds to paired ingredients.
Use the stock cubes for exciting dishes like shiitake mushroom and udon noodles or roasted cauliflower bites with lemony greens and spicy dip. There are six cubes to a pack and there is no added MSG, artificial colours or preservatives. Buttermilk mouth-watering snacks
It's easier to go vegan if you enjoy what you eat and who wouldn't with treats like chocolate-dipped caramel sea salt honeycomb and dairy-free peanut butter crunch? Award-winning Cornish confectioner Buttermilk has been enchanting taste buds since 1964 and has a wide range of vegan as well as gluten-free indulgences.
Caramel Sea Salt Honeycomb has deliciously sweet crunchy pieces dipped in dark chocolate. The Salted Caramel Cups are vegan-friendly and dairy-free that come in a compostable bag. They are simply too good to share. There's also the dairy-free Peanut Butter Crunch in the vegan range consisting of small crispy, chocolate laden bites oozing with peanut butter filling.

Ombar - bean to bar chocolate
Labelled the super chocolate, Ombar is vegan-friendly chocolate using cocoa sourced directly from farmers' co-operatives in Ecuador. The cocoa in the bars is left unroasted, so it is healthier. The flavours are luxurious and distinctive too with a wide range on offer.
Just to name a few, there's Salt and Nibs mixing saltiness and crunch in a bar. Then there is the creaminess of Coco Mylk that uses creamed coconut instead of milk. Finally, the Centres Hazlenut Truffle bar is memorably super nutty and rich.
