Indonesian food is a popular favourite, and a very diverse cuisine. Indonesian style food is influenced by many regions of Indonesia but also by neighbouring countries such as India, the Middle East and China. Dishes often contain spicy meat or fish, rice and vegetables, some traditional meals are nasi goreng, gado-gado, satay, rendang, sambal and soto.

There have been many Indonesian food outlets in Perth, from big restaurants to small take-away stalls, but where is the best Indonesian food in Perth?

Have you tried the delicious food at the Victoria Café and Restaurant in Fremantle? Victoria Cafe is a favourite Indonesian restaurant for locals and visitors alike. The food is delicious, the servings are large, and the prices are reasonable.

The Satay Spot Restaurant in Perth serves modern Indonesian style cuisine. Their menu has a large variety of meals to choose from and their Satay is especially tasty.

The menu at the Tasik Indonesian Restaurant, in Northbridge, offers a wide range of Indonesian dishes at affordable prices. This is a great place to go to for authentic Indonesian food.

Try the Manise Café in Northbridge. It is said to be Perth's only East Indonesian Restaurant, and the food is very tasty.

The popular Sparrow Indonesian Take-Away in Highgate is always a good option. The menu offers all your usual favourite dishes and there are plenty to choose from. The food is always great tasting and great value.

Perhaps you have tried a meal from Tias Indonesian Restaurant in Bentley, the Green Magician in Mount Hawthorn, Suria Café in Girrawheen or the Minang Indonesian Restaurant in Leederville, they all come highly recommended.

Definitely Sweet Java. Took some Indonesian friends there for dinner during Ramadan and they nearly cried with happiness at the wonderful food, especially after their day of fasting.

Sweet Java, corner Grosvenor and Hyde Sts, Mt Lawley. Excellent, the Ambassador has dined there. Reopens 21 May (they needed a holiday).

Try De Spoon at Karawara. Opened by the Eaton Group from Indonesia. Delicious rendang and Nasi Goreng.
