Indian cuisine is so rich and varied, there must be hundreds of dishes, so selecting the top Indian Restaurants in Brisbane will not be an easy task. I'm sure everyone will have their favourite restaurant, so let's get straight to it.

I'll start with some of the recommendations from the Brisbane Weekend Notes team; West End Girl is quite fond of Yash Indian Cuisine, Carly Ogborne gave Goa-Doodle-Do Restaurant the thumbs up, Maharaja Indian Restaurant certainly made an impression on Antonia Ostbye and Jewel of India Restaurant was recommended by Sam Canavan.

Indian Mehfil is another popular establishment with a reputation for great customer service and an extensive menu. Karma Indian & Nepalese Cuisine is another top pick; here you can try Nepalese dishes such as Kolo Chholla and Kukhura Sandheko and Tandoori cuisine; i.e. Chicken Malai Tikka, Tandoori Chicken and Tandoori Prawns. A final contender is Punjab Curry Club, which is known for its range of fresh tandoor breads and Punjabi Dishes, such as Rogan Josh, Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka and many more. Plus it is also affordable with mains priced around the $15 mark.

If you know of a great Indian cafe or restaurant located in or around Brisbane, please let us know about it by leaving a comment below.

We look forward to your feedback.

Halim's at Rosalie (amazing Butter Chicken); Mahendra's at Coopers Plains (give Kuma's a miss, sorry but it's awful Indian food) and Shanti on Monier Road at Seventeen Mile Rocks for the most amazing dosa at lunch time! (all recommendations coming from someone who lived in India for a couple of years and is a regular visitor and is very fussy about her indian food).

I know its not really in Brisbane proper - but the Jothi Palace in Chermside West has the most amazing food and the service is always great. Its a small place tucked away on a side street but they do a great take out business as well as dine in...very reasonable as well

I prefer Grand Taj - Mount Gravatt East(Almost on Carindale in Creek Road) and Karma on Brunswick Street were the best I reckoned the best. We received excellent best service with short waiting time after the order. Plenty of free parking in both places. There is a car parking available underneath the Karma Restaurent. If u feel food is too hot..try Baskin Robins ice cream (located next to Karma)after paying-off Karma..
