Port Macquarie
Port Macquarie is located
NSW/Port Macquarie NSW/@-32.6522311,150.8523609,8z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x6b129838f39a743f:0x3017d681632a850!2m2!1d151.2092955!2d-33.8688197!1m5!1m1!1s0x6b9dff5c34ecc9c1:0x50609b490442e40!2m2!1d152.8974657!2d-31.4580174!3e0 4.5 hours north of Sydney or you can fly from Sydney to Port Macquarie and get there quicker! Port Macquarie is a popular destination for all ages, as it has something for everyone. There are stunning beaches, a wide range of
accommodation options ,
family activities ,
shows ,
wineries ,
country pubs ,
foodie experiences , great fishing and miles of coastline to explore. Port Macquarie seems to be growing every time I go back to visit it - there are more cafes, more things to do, more shops and more attractions, popping up each year. If you want to relax, then start your day at Town Beach and then go from there...
Nelson Bay
Nelson Bay is located closer to Sydney, just over
New South Wales/Nelson Bay, New South Wales 2315/data=!4m8!4m7!1m2!1m1!1s0x6b129838f39a743f:0x3017d681632a850!1m2!1m1!1s0x6b7383c232b5436d:0x5017d681632f200!3e0?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi5ssX-iPn3AhWlmOYKHcllB7wQ-A96BAgCEA0 2.5 hours north of Sydney. This is a much smaller holiday destination than Port Macquarie, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in beauty! The water is particularly blue in the waters of Port Stephens due to the fine, white sand on the
bays and beaches around Nelson Bay. The town of Nelson Bay has restaurants, water activities, cafes and shops and then you hop in the car and start exploring surrounding towns and beaches at
Shoal Bay ,
Fingal Bay ,
Anna Bay ,
Salamander Bay ,
Soldiers Point and
Corlette. This venue can get very busy in
summer, but if you visit in
winter you may have an entire beach to yourself. My family loved this area so much, that we moved here!
