During the dry season, when the Darwin weather is nice and friendly (not too hot and humid), a lot of outdoor festivals will be held here, including family-friendly festivals, multicultural festivals and music festivals.
There's something for everyone, including for children
Glenti Festival celebrates Greek culture and the community through cuisine, dance and singing. Once every two years, Darwin will celebrate everything Italian with the Italian Festival. Pesona Indonesia, Thailand Grand Festival and India at Mindil are some other festivals with an Asian flavour. Mouthwatering traditional cuisine, colourful traditional costume and many other unique customs are displayed at these multicultural festivals.
There are also some music festivals in Darwin. Bass in the Grass is one of the biggest music festivals in Darwin that has been going every year since 2013. For movie lovers, there is The Charles Darwin Film Festival which provides a platform for local filmmakers in the Northern Territory to screen their works.
Enjoying Darwin's balmy weather and sunset
Some great festivals to celebrate Indigenous culture also are held in Darwin, such as Garrmalang Festival. Darwin Festival combines warm outdoor festivities with a program rich with local, national and international talent. Cabaret, theatre, dance, visual arts, outdoor concerts under the stars and fun family events transform Darwin for 18 dazzling days and nights.
