As Father's Day rolls around each September, families all around the country think about where they will take Dad to spoil him on his special day. Of course, all Dads and father figures are different - some may prefer a quiet burger down at the local pub, whereas other men may prefer something more adventurous. What does your Dad like to do?
The scenic Nelson Bay region is a popular place to spend Father's Day, as many tourists visit the town and locals are out enjoying the region with the men in their lives. There are numerous places to take Dad - from
waterfront restaurants for food-loving Dads, to the local
animal park, for Dads with small children. These ideas below, are just some of my personal suggestions on where to take him, however, if you have more ideas that your Dad would love, please leave a comment at the top of this article and share your top tips. Quad Bike King is for adventurous Dads and families, who love getting out and exploring the area. This thrilling tour over the sand dunes will get the heart pumping, as you explore the Stockton Sand Dunes in the Worimi Conservation Lands. Kids can also get involved (with restrictions on age and height) and it is a lot of fun for the whole family - highly recommended! See

Shoal Bay Country Club is a popular venue on family events, as there is often free children's activities on the day. This venue is one of the most popular restaurant and bar venues along the waterfront, with a scenic restaurant upstairs with views over the spectacular blue water of Shoal Bay. Dad will enjoy the seafood menu and everyone will love the view! See

Murray's Brewery is a popular venue all year around, however, they always do something a little extra special on Father's Day, Mother's Day, Easter or any day which involves families. Sit in the sunshine and enjoy a paddle of beer samplers, pizza, burgers, tacos and more. There is plenty of grass for the kids to run around on and there is a relaxed vibe - perfect for a Sunday chill out. See
