Eggs benedict is a classic English breakfast yet Melbourne makes it so much better than our London based counterparts. No grease to begin with, and using quality (and in some cases organic) ingredients.

The eggs benedict at Continental at Albert Park is just superb with a modern, chic and contemporary ambience. However it is disappointing that many other people have been unsatisfied with the quality of the food at this establishment; however I (and a friend of mine on this occasion) might have been lucky. The breakfast of eggs benedict was fantastic. Come down here for Sunday brunch with a friend and you are set for the day. Albert Park is trendy to begin with, which often makes the decision of where to have a cafe style breakfast that little bit difficult. If eggs benedict perhaps isn't your thing, then any other breakfast item on the menu will be just as terrific. Not to mention great customer service, well again for me anyway.

For something a little closer to the city, the eggs benedict at Blue Train Cafe is also worthwhile. Just remember that breakfast isn't on all day here, so you need to have an early brunch, and Saturday (as opposed to Sunday) just feels more right to enjoy breakfast here. Although a better establishment to enjoy lunch (like fish and chips); still a great locale for breakfast whether alone or with someone.

Otherwise, for something right in the city (and if your in the mood to shop for some bargains) then the Coffee Club at the Spencer Street Fashion Station makes a quite filling and delicious eggs benedict. Something would be so wrong with you if you left this establishment hungry after eggs benedict and a latte (and/or a glass of water) to boot.
