I'm sure the majority of you have noticed the new craze that has swept over our city over the past year or so–
DOUGHNUTS. Starting from bakeries, grocery stores and your occasional cafes, doughnuts have managed to create franchises dedicated solely to this treat. Over the past five to six months I have been on an avid journey to find the best doughnuts Brisbane can offer. Listed below are some of my personal favourites.
1.
Doughnut Time
We will start with
Doughnut Time as I believe there was recently a lot of craze and hype about this particular franchise. I mean, rightly so. Their doughnuts are exquisite and do not disappoint. Never will I regret $6 being spent on doughnuts topped with bacon. If you're looking for a recommendation: my personal favourite is
The Red Wedding or as i like to refer to as red velvet heaven.
2.
Flour & Chocolate
Not only do they have incredibly tasty doughnuts but you will find a variety of other delicious treats from brownies, croissants and their well-known cronuts. A must try if you have a sweet tooth.
3.
Nodo
They had me at freshly baked gluten free doughnuts.
Nodo doughnuts are guaranteed to win your hearts over. Among all the places I've listed, I have probably visited
Nodo the most and can safely say that i have not found a single flavor that I have disliked. They can also serve up an excellent coffee which is always a plus,
4.
Chester Street Bakery
One of the best places for mouth-watering desserts. If you live or are visiting the Newstead area, i would definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven't already. Treat yourself to one of their four doughnut topped flavours with one of their famous milkshakes. It is the perfect combo.
Those are just four of my personal favourites. I am still yet to try many other places hidden in Brisbane that serve delicious doughnuts. Where are your favourite doughnuts in Brisbane from?
