Sydney has an array of quality deli's; you just need to think Paddington, Bondi and Balmain and you are on track. The Gourmet Grocer in Balmain is so fantastic and mouthwatering. Their antipasto selections make a great party that much more spectacular, and the stock is so high quality and well presented; perishables and non-perishables alike. Heard about the Ben and Jerry's ice cream range here for the first time, and it was great that the staff helped me open the little container the first time as it was quite tricky to use in the beginning, and just great service overall. Other delicatessens that have stood the test of time in this area also include Delissimo and Ralph's Delicatessen ; especially for their breads; yummy.

The Quay Deli at Circular Quay is a great locale to buy beautiful sandwiches and wraps, and also their rice pudding was flavoursome and not too grainy or milky. Great to also buy any of their pies and pastries here; don't know if I would want to try a vanilla slice anywhere else. Excellent service. Its a small little establishment, so it can feel a little squeezy; however great service despite being quite busy, so patience is a real virtue here.

Also for the best quality cheeses to take home, and an establishment that has come to fill a void of cheap, quality food and cafe service simultaneously is Matt and his team at Delmain Providore . Their cheese are to die for.
