Endota Day Spa at Lorne

To enjoy a day spa to it's fullest potential you need to escape the city for a beach or countryside destination, luckily there are plenty of great options not too far away.

The most obvious place would be Daylesford and the adjoining Hepburn Springs. Otherwise known as the spa country and for good reason with over 20 day spas with several being multi award winners.

Spa Daylesford is a great site to have a look at as it lists all day spas, mobile massages, hot stone massages, beauty therapists, healing massage, aromatherapy massages and all other massages and treatments available in 'spa country'.

Favourites for Daylesford and Hepburn Springs include:

Daylesford Mineral Spa at Peppers which is the most awarded and acclaimed mineral spa in Australia featuring 11 treatment rooms. Full body relaxation costs $125 for 60 minutes.

Daylesford Day Spa has full body relaxation massages for $120 for 60 minutes and hot stone massages for $190 for 90 minutes.

One that sounds fantastic is the multi award winning Shizuka Ryokan an authentic Japanese day spa that considers massage therapy a necessity for overall well-being and not an indulgence. I wonder if I can talk Medicare around to covering massage therapy?
Japanese Shiatzu massage is $100 for 60 minutes or a Geisha facial is $130 for 60 minutes.

Salus at Lake House

Daylesford Lake house Salus Spa is also highly regarded and has many satisfied customers. Relaxation massage costs $140 for 60 minutes.
Acqua Viva day spa was voted one of the top 5 day spa's in Australia by Women's Day, located in Hepburn Springs a 60 minute relaxation massage costs $110.
Endota Day Spa offers 7 treatment rooms including 4 couples rooms. Men's treatments are on the menu as 'Macho' so girls can get their men to go along. Relaxation massages are $115 for 60 minutes.

In the Dandenong Ranges:
I have come up with a real gem here with Nourish at Sassafras, it looks stunning, has wonderful reviews and the price is much cheaper than others with a 60 minute relaxation massage at $80 or 90 minutes for $110. Nourish also offer Myotherapy and accept private health insurance.

Balance Mountain Day Spa is relatively new after opening in 2011, they have private fern gardens, relaxation lounges and open fire place to help you relax before your massage. A 60 minute relaxation massage is $135. If you prefer, Balance Day Spa can come to you with at home/accommodation treatments.

Japanese Mountain Retreat has a private heated mineral spring designed in the style of a Japanese Onsen. Massages start at $135 for a 60 minute relaxation massage.

On the Mornington Peninsula:
Peninsula Hot Springs has been the recipient of many awards including 3 RACV tourism awards and is extremely popular. At the hot springs you have the choice of bathing, massages, beauty treatments. A 60 minute massage is $150, bathing is $35 for adults, $20 for children or $95 for a family of four.

Peninsula life Medispa in Mornington and Sorrento offers everything from beauty treatments, laser and massages, at the moment they are offering new customers a $25 gift voucher to use on treatments. Relaxation massages are $120 for 60 minutes.

Red Hill Spa was recently featured on channel 9's Postcards as a great place to go rest and relax. A 60 minute massage is $110.

On the Surf Coast:

Endota spa at Lorne looks amazing and takes up two locations in Lorne. Endota has a great list of treatments with a 60 minute massage being $115, however, weekends are dearer with Sundays being $145.

Saltair Spa Retreat is located in Torquay and is definitely the up and coming spa. Great winter specials are available with a 90 minute spa and massage for $115 or 'little retreat' a 60 minute massage and facial combination for $89. Regular priced 60 minute massage is $99.

Port Fairy Day Spa has heaps of combinations and treatments to choose from with a standard 60 minute massage being $95.

Whilst I must say I haven't been fortunate enough to escape to any of these day spas through lack of time and money, I do hope this list is appreciated and enjoyed by readers and I would love to hear your feedback on your favourite day spa.
