A crępe is a very thin pancake, first invented in Brittany, northern France. Crępes are very popular and yummy and are often filled with sweet or savoury fillings.

Here in Perth there are a few Cręperies but where are the best crępes in Perth?

Crępe Cherie, in Claremont and Karrinyup, make some of the most delicious crępes in Perth. Their menu has lots of options with plenty of both sweet and savoury choices. The crępes are fluffy, light and slightly crisp and are $12.00 each for sweet or $13.50 for savoury. Crępe Cherie also has a great children's menu with a great Kids Crępe Combo for just $10.50.

What about La Galette de France? They have a fantastic patisserie and cafe in both Nedlands and South Perth. They make a great assortment of fresh products every day and a wide range of sweet and savoury crępes starting at $6.00 each.

Have you tried Pancakes at Carillon, in Perth. They are famous for their pancakes but they also make fantastic crępes.

The Crępe Cafe is a franchise chain and has outlets in Morley, Booragoon, Karrinyup and Cannington. These outlets are very popular for quick and easy crępes at any time and they have a wide range of both sweet and savoury choices.

Pancake Talk in Beaconsfield make tasty sweet or savoury crępes for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The offer a wide range of choices on the menu and they also have waffles and pancakes. Patrons of Pancake Talk come from far and wide, and the cafe comes highly recommended. The sweet crępes start at around the $4.00 mark while savoury crępes start at about $7.50.

Michele's Crępe Suzette, at the markets in Fremantle, is a popular spot for crępes. As well as sweet and savoury crępes they also make vegetarian, dairy free, rice batter, wholemeal and egg free crępes.

There's now a little food van called "Miam Miam a bite of France" at the Perth Cultural Center on Thursdays and Fridays. The crepes are absolutely sensational and quite cheap (around 5-6 bucks) and authentic I guess as the owner is French: she told me it was her mum's recipe she used to cook when she was a kid almost every Sundays for tea time.
They also sell some fantastic macarons (got a box of 6 yesterday and lasted only 5 min with my colleagues). Worth having a look to their facebook page...

You need to try Crepe Cherie in Joondalup. It has the best coffee and crepe that I have ever had.

A new French crępe restaurant has just opened in Perth CBD. It's the first of its kind, exactly like a French cręperie, where you can have a full meal and a glass of cider or wine. So authentic! The menu is a great French-Australian combination and the atmosphere is lovely. The buckwheat galettes are a must-try.They are amazing and very reasonably priced too. It's called The Cręperie, and it's in Shafto Lane.
