I have a mild addiction. I'm not completely dependent but if I don't get my daily fix, I can become lethargic, irritable and the headache - geez, it's just not even worth contemplating. But don't worry, it's nothing too serious. I simply love my coffee.

So, where is the best coffee on the Lower North Shore?

My recommendation would be ' Forsyth '. Nestled in the suburban hub of Naremburn, owner Rob Forsyth (coffee buyer and roast master) has been creating and fine tuning his coffee blends for over 25 years.

Rob's expertise and knowledge is evident. He actually takes into account whether an area has been in draught or whether there have been unseasonable rains because the weather conditions can change the coffees flavour. And the blends from different regions allow a complexity of flavours which ensures your daily coffee is a moment of sheer bliss.

I typically order a long black. A long black is rather unforgiving. There's no milk or sugar to soften the blow. Friends and family have taken me to various places assuring me "It's great coffee here". Yep, it's okay but it ain't Forsyth. I am not a milk coffee drinker so I can't really comment but one of my close girlfriends regularly orders a latte and she's always a happy camper.

For a leisurely 'fix', you can enjoy your coffee alfresco under the umbrellas and spreading tree, next to their very own coffee plantation. Or, if you're in a hurry you can pop into their coffee den for a speedy takeaway.
