Where is the Gold Coast's Best Coffee

Its true, you can seriously enjoy a quality arabica caffeine hit on the Gold Coast. Opulent Main Beach is the area of choice, despite having tried a number of coffees on the Goldie. Where can you get the best caffeine hit, albeit quality brewed coffee on the Gold Coast?

Two places in Main Beach are standouts, kind of in a league of their own. However in saying this, people I have bumped into in Surfers Paradise have been saying things like "Try x cafe, their coffee is the best," and before you know it the name slips out of your mind. Otherwise there are great cafes in the Gold Coast full stop. Answering this question (for all of us) is rather difficult.

The place that makes a really mean latte would have to be Le Jardin at Palazzo Versace on Main Beach. You're in luxury. It is a cheap way to rent some Versace furniture for free, or for a cheap price anyway, and maybe for about half an hour, depending on how quickly you enjoy your coffee. Enjoy the Versace couches, chairs and pillows, as well as exceptional service. In many five star hotels in comparison, you kind of feel ripped off if you have been charged $9 for a tall coffee with great ambience, however with ambience and coffee nowhere near as great as what you will find at the Palazzo Versace.

For starters, $7 is exceptional value for a latte. No way, you do not receive your brew in a small glass. Instead, receive it in a lovely Versace tall glass that can take many chatterboxes an hour to enjoy, and is even great when the coffee has almost cooled down. Okay, so you might need a couple of sugars or sweeteners, however the quality (it is tricky to fully explain) is just great.

Clearly the barista has roasted the beans well, and has not burnt the milk while frothing. That is important. Naturally, some beautiful latte art comes into play. Credit has to go towards that. Latte art is no easy feat, and with Versace on the table, the pressure can mount on the staff behind the scenes. Buy yourself some opulence for a good, good price.

Otherwise, the coffee at the Diva Tea and Coffee House (as the name implies) serve some great coffee. Yours truly was caught up on so much retail therapy at the time, she became rather careless in remembering the price, and taking some shots for that matter. With great coffee here, rightly so. It is easy to spend on a take-away latte (it's hard to get a cool spot here) unconsciously. A caffeine coma at last. The staff are pretty fast on their feet, and the indoor ambience is dimly lit and rather cosy. Coffee worth devouring.

Now it's over to you. Although I have focused on Main Beach. The coffee in other areas of the Gold Coast is also great, yet not the creme de la creme for a coffee lover in most cases. What do you think? Where is the Gold Coast's best coffee for you, and why is it so special?
