Finding an excellent cup of coffee can be such an ordeal sometimes as we tend to be spoiled for choice in Brisbane.

There are so many exquisite cafes, quality roasters and brand-names to choose from, the choosing can become the hard part. I live in Chermside and I swear that there are at least two dozen cafes and restaurants that serve coffee scattered throughout the suburb.

I have spent a good deal of time looking for the best coffee in my local area and I recommend trying a cup at my favourite two spots in Chermside: 1. Segafredo @ Cantina 817 & 2. Di Bella @ Amici Deli.

Chermside Shopping Centre boasts a great many of these venues but I find that if you are looking for a truly superb cup of coffee, you are best to try one of the cafes that are not within the centre.

By far the best cafe in Chermside is Ainsdale Street Espresso. The ladies there serve a spectacular custom blend by Brendan of heaven in a cup, beautiful teas and to decedent hot cocoa with hints of orange or mint. On top of that they have the most divine baked products by Emma Organics. The richest most incredible organic chocolate brownies, praline blondies and delicious daily specials served up with the loveliest of smiles.

By far the best coffee, or in the top three at least, outside of chermside shopping centre is a little place called Coffee Essence. It's a surprising little nook, that you don't see from the road located in the Chermside Marketplace complex on the corner of Gympie and Webster roads. The staff are the friendliest people, who are extremely welcoming and grateful for the business. And the coffee.. Smooth and wholesome brew from Elxir which I believe and have heard is made in the shop as well as elixir themelves. Would recommend this beautiful cafe to anyone and definitely worth the experience!

I agree, Coffee Essence near Trade Secret is the best coffee shop in the Chermside area.

Kabels coffee is nice fresh and good tasting. I have tried most of the Westfield, and despite the huge crowds, it's all mediocre :( Why don't people boycott the chains? laziness? low standards?
