The Best Christmas Lights Displays in Sydney

As Christmas draws near there's a certain buzz in the air, growing stronger by the day. This is a magical time of year, bringing with it a plethora of ornaments and elaborate decorations. Wreaths and banners are popping up all over Sydney streets whilst lavishly decorated trees appear in plazas and shopping centres to mark the festive season.

So where in Sydney can you find the best of the Christmas bunch? Read on as I share my favourite 3 around the CBD.

Christmas Tree @ Martin Place



In person, this is quite a stunning tree. Admittedly, you have to stand a fair distance away to fit it all in a photo. Standing in the centre of Martin Place, this fine Christmas specimen is enclosed by a gold, woven-like fence. Generously decorated with large sparkling baubles, the star at the top glitters beautifully in the sun. It also looks amazing by night.

3 Wise Monkeys Pub



Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and to some, this may be just a bunch of monkeys wearing Santa hats. But there's something about the simplicity of this idea that gives this quirky scene its effectiveness. Located on George & Liverpool Streets, this corner pub definitely gets a thumbs up from me in the best Christmas display department. Just try and look at it without raising a smile.

Queen Victoria Building (QVB)

Last but not least, my final location is perhaps the grandest of them all. Spanning 3 levels of the QVB and covered in a multitude of Swarovski crystals, to describe this tree as stunning would clearly be an understatement. This is without doubt, one of Sydney's finest Christmas displays. It's difficult to imagine the hours of work that went into positioning and decorating this monumental Christmas tree.

Whether in the CBD itself or in a quiet suburban street, everyone is bound to know where to find a great Christmas decoration or display.
