1. Queensland Theatre Company Subscription

Queensland Theatre Company is such a great supporter of, and advocate for, local theatre professionals, and in 2015 they produced some of the best theatre Brisbane has ever seen. QTC has some excellent subscription offers, all of which you can tailor to your gift recipient's tastes.

Their website lets you quickly and easily create a bespoke 2016 subscription of 8, 5 or 3 productions. The 8 Play Package gets you 30% off Premium single ticket prices, you'll get up to 20% off Premium single ticket prices with the 5 Play Package and up to 15% off with the 3 Play Package. You save even more if you're buying for someone under 30. You also get to choose whether they attend on Saturday nights, weeknights, matinees or previews and for some performances, whether they'll be sitting in the premium or A-reserve section.

Plus, if you purchase a 2016 subscription before 18 December, 2015 their name will go into the draw to win a 'money-can't-buy' experience with outgoing QTC Artistic Director Wesley Enoch.

The QTC website says, "The lucky winner and their guest will get the ultimate QTC 'backstage pass; two days with our Artistic Director at the Sydney Festival, joining him as he steps into his new role as Festival Director. You'll take in a number of performances as Wesley's VIPs, and have plenty of time before and after shows to review and reflect on all your experiences. There will also be some time to take in the city sights and soak up all the Festival has to offer."

As the old advertising slogan goes, 'But wait there's more!' If you buy an 8 play package for a new subscriber, you also get a complimentary three-month subscription to your choice of the following magazines: Belle, Australian Gourmet Traveller, Australian Homes and Gardens, Elle or Harper's Bazzar.

Subscribe online here, visit 78 Montague Road, South Brisbane (open 9-5pm Mon-Fri) or phone 1800 355 528 (open 9-5pm Mon-Fri).

2. La Boite Theatre Company Subscription

La Boite Theatre has been producing unique, adventurous and new works in Brisbane for ninety years. They're offering a variety of 2016 Season Packages, with subscription prices starting at just $26 per show.

Choose a five play or a three play VIP Opening Night Package to send the theatre lover in your life to opening nights where they rub shoulders with the who's who of the theatre community at the exclusive after party. If they're not fussed about networking, a five or three play package can be purchased for adults, concessions or under 30s, with the biggest savings to be made on the adult five play deal.

Aside from saving on tickets, subscribers get: free date exchanges if they need to change the session they're attending, they can go to the Meet the Artists Q&A nights at no extra cost, they get a complimentary souvenir program for all shows, invitations to private film screenings at Dendy Portside, special events such as book launches at Avid Reader and mate's rates for an additional two adult tickets to any show at the concession price. Subscribers also receive a half-price drink with the purchase of another full-price drink at the Dancing Bean Espresso Bar an hour before the performance.
