Melbourne is cafe society and home to high quality espresso coffee such as cafe lattes. What about the chai lattes you might ask? After trying many quality chai lattes I can honestly say yes, Melbourne is home to quality chai lattes as well.

The Corso at Crown makes an extremely sweet and spicy chai latte full of flavour, and it is just a pleasure to consume. It would be ideal to enjoy (while reading a complimentary paper or magazine) sitting at the lounge if you can grab it, otherwise just as great to take away, enjoy and walk along the Yarra with it. Love the spicy aroma taste, and the milk does not leave you feeling sluggish, not an overly milky feeling, and the service is pretty fast here too.

Otherwise the chai latte at Puccino's on Bourke Street is a little bit milkier, however still a great cinnamon spice and combination of flavours. If you choose to eat in, compliment it with one of their yummy macaroons. Love the image and vibe. Really chic and contemporary establishment with great prices too.

Last but not least, and only as a last resort (and only during the week) a chai latte at Cafe Blanc on King Street is really something; whether you go for the traditional or vanilla spices (you are given a choice upon ordering) either one will not leave you feeling disappointed; especially if you love a milky chai latte which packs a bit of a cinnamon punch. Now these establishments just need to produce some iced chai lattes as a great cooler alternative for those hot days.
