A great café is a real treasure. It's that one place where you can sit and relax and enjoy a fantastic cappuccino and piece of cake, or somewhere that you can meet friends for a snack or light meal. The place you rely on to give you a boost as you take a break from shopping or during your lunch hour. There are loads of cafés in Perth and the surrounding areas but where's the best café in Perth?

Aroma Café is the largest café franchise with more than 50 stores throughout Australia. They serve great coffee and fresh food and you can be sure that you will get something you like. Join the Aroma Café Coffee Reward Club, receive a stamp each time you purchase a coffee and get the 11th coffee free.

Dome has cafés throughout Australia and the rest of the world. Their coffee is always lovely and their cafes have a European style décor. They have an extensive menu so you can grab a quick snack or a light lunch with ease.

Gloria Jeans is Australian owned and operated and now has over 1000 cafés worldwide. They have a varied menu and always have a variety of yummy cakes on display. Their coffee is delicious and so are their iced drinks.

The Coffee Club is another large café franchise with 280 stores across Australia and New Zealand. Offering a diverse menu you will easily find a snack or something for lunch and the coffee is great. They also do a selection of all-day breakfasts, from classic bacon and eggs to eggs benedict with shaved ham or smoked salmon.

McCafe which is a subsidiary of McDonalds is actually a very good café. The cappuccinos are excellent and they have a large range of cakes, cheese cakes, pastries, cookies, muffins and toasted sandwiches, all of which are very, very good. The range is constantly changing so you are always likely to find something different that you will enjoy.

Jamaica Blue cafés are found all over Australia and have been a big favourite for over 20 years. The café is named after the majestic blue mountains of Jamaica and they bring a small piece of the Caribbean into their stores. They offer great tasting coffee and mouth-watering, high quality sandwiches, meals and cakes including a 'lite' range which is high in taste yet low in fat.

Caffissimo cafés can be found all over WA and offer superb coffee, with 15 stores all over the metro area, there is sure to be one near you. Offering 19 coffee varieties and 35 tea varieties you will find it hard to choose one. They have an extensive menu which includes breakfast, light meals and cookies and cakes.

With 1000's of cafés in Perth and the surrounding areas it is difficult to choose the best one. The aroma of fresh coffee floats through the air, the atmosphere is relaxing and cosmopolitan, the fragrant smells of food cooking drifts from the kitchen and you feel like you are in a coffee Shangri-La. Everyone has their own personal favourite, but where is the best café in Perth?

I love Dome in Fremantle. All Domes in fact. Sadly they're not all over Australia - only WA and Tassie. I'm also keen on Merchant Tea & Coffee co. They're run by people who seem to take their tea very seriously. As a big tea drinker, I have to admire them for that. :)
