If part of your consistent routine includes getting your hair done at one of the more famous salons, you have several to choose from. You never know, you might wind up sitting next to a celebrity while you're under the dryer.

John Frieda

Located at 797 Madison Avenue in New York, this salon is frequented by stars such as Julia Roberts. It also boasts a staffer who is considered the "best blowout in New York City."

Another thing about this salon? You can sign up to be a "cut model", and let students "experiment" on your hair. Don't worry, though, it's all done under the watchful eye of one of the John Frieda instructors.

April Barton Suite 303

This hair salon is located in the Chelsea Hotel in New York City. It's on the 3rd floor, which may be why not very many people know about it, except for celebrities like Bono and other members of U2.

There's no sign on the door and no barber chairs either, so you'll just have to look for Ava, April's brown Labrador mix, as well as April Barton herself, to know you're in the right place. Don't forget to give Ava a scratch.

Sally Hershberger Downtown

Got a few bucks to spend on a haircut (about eight hundred of them to be exact)? If that's the case, then visit Sally Hershberger Downtown. There are two locations, so make sure you go to the one in the Meatpacking District; specifically 423-425 West 14th Street for the Downtown location.

No matter which New York salon you choose, be prepared to spend quite a bit more then you're used to. After all, you are paying for the privilege of having your hair cut at a very upscale salon, and quite possibly by the same stylist that cuts your favorite celebrity's hair.
