Bakeries are not only wonderful places to purchase a wide variety of breads, pastries, cakes and pies, but they are also fantastic places to sample different cuisines. For example you can try European delights at La Banette Patisserie, Italian treats at A&P Sulfaro Pasticceria Italiana and Malaysian sweets at
Pappa Roti .
The talented Sydney WeekendNotes team have previously recommended bakeries such as
Pattison's Patisserie, Fine Bakery and Cafe ,
Joseph Henri's Bakery and Coffee House ,
Bourke Street Bakery ,
Quarter Twenty One and Becasse Bakery ,
Black Star Pastry and
Brasserie Bread . But now with your help, we would like to create a listing of Sydney's very best bakeries.
To kick of the list, lets start with the popular The French House, located in Waterloo, which is an establishment renown for delicious desserts. Another top pick is La Banette Patisserie, located in Glebe, for quality tarts and sweets. Saint-Germain Patisserie, located in Waterloo has fantastic croissants (or does that honour belong to Croissant d'Or in Potts Point?), while Hellenic Bakery, located in Marrickville, is great for Greek inspired sweet and savoury treats, while Sweet Belem, located in Petersham, has a yummy Portuguese egg tart.
There are quite a few Sydney bakeries to pick from, so I am going to hand it over to you. If you know of a great bakery located in or around Sydney, please leave a comment.
We look forward to your feedback.
