Dress manner is an interesting thought in modern day society, what exactly is it that makes someone 'presentable' and to what extent is considered a good level of presentation in someone's fashion?

Fashion in modern day society says a lot about a person's character. It is far more than simply looking good, rather it is a method of representation of your own self. But what a lot of people seem to misunderstand is that a "good representation" differs with every single person on this planet. Each and every person is different, and how their minds perceive the representation differs from person to person.

Australia has seen different trends come to the spotlight over the years, with more and more underground labels sprouting varying and often out of the ordinary ideas. While this article explores what the best label in menswear is, the word best is open to interpretation. The word 'best' is merely a perception and what one person may think is the best cut of jeans, another may think otherwise. This is completely understandable in contemporary society where everyone holds their own different thoughts and opinions, and essentially, everyone has their own right to their own thought and opinion.

Perks and Mini is an Australian based fashion label featuring a range of different apparel including shirts, jumpers, jackets as well as creating artwork and music showcased at different exhibition. What's particularly interesting about the brand is its diversity. The almost comical take on their jumpers with their infamous logo consisting of a cartoon "mickey-mouse" look-a-like is contrasted by their more innovative ideas in their jackets. P.A.M's latest line of cycling-inspired parka jackets feature intricate stitchings, side pockets, chest pocket, internal wallet slip, and the infamous cycling jersey inspired back zipper pouch pocket. All this together with an excellent hood, water resistant technical fabric, what more could you possibly want. In addition to what seems like an everlasting amount of pockets, is the pragmatic placement of pockets, which really do make that difference. Owning a P.A.M. parka jacket myself, I can confidently say it's well wroth the purchase. The back pocket itself demonstrates the innovative thinking of the designers. Too often I find myself wearing the jacket with several items on me including a laptop charger and not even noticing the weight. Perfect for the average University student who wants to dress well, carry his laptop charger on him, and stay dry during the winter season.

Chronicles of Never is an upcoming if not already well-established boutique clothing brand, developed by none other than Tsubi (or Ksubi) master designer Gareth Moody. The label starting out with jewellery, is now a fully-established fashion label that offers mens and womens clothing, footwear, and collaborative sunglasses. The style is particularly interesting in the sense that you really can see the influence of jewellery into their designs. The sleek bronze, matt silver and blackened silver are a representation of the label, and continue to be idealised in their footwear and clothing. The sleek and what sometimes comes across as "dark," is evident in their line of custom hand made leather shoes. The label explores a theme of old and real brushed brass and silver styles which gives off a grunge yet sleek look. The style embodies the label, and has become a distinct signature form of the label's products.

Claude Maus is without a doubt one of Australia's most challenging labels of recent times. Starting out as a graphic and design label, it evolved into a fashion label in 1999. The general basis of the label tends to explore the boundaries in fashion through experimentation of rich texture and often bizarre yet curiously interesting design. It's interesting to see the development of the label in the sense that it really dares people to explore what they represent exactly. Their latest line of jeans captures the idea of daring design. It's slim-cut and stretch fabric make the jeans both smart looking and comfortable.

So what is the best label? The question isn't necessarily a matter of being hard to answer, rather it's too open-ended to come down to a final answer. In the end it comes down personal taste. And yet again it is that taste that represents impression amongst other characteristics of that person.
