We are surrounded by all forms of art in Melbourne - from street art, to public sculptures, to our world class National Gallery - there is no doubt Melbourne has a major art fixation. The talented Melbourne Notes team has covered many of the art galleries located in and around Melbourne and Victoria; some of the recommended venues include One Hundredth Gallery, Art Gallery of Ballarat, Monash Gallery of Art, The Ian Potter Art Gallery and the Melbourne Fine Art Gallery.

Some of my personal favourites would have to include the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Gertrude Contemporary, Heide Museum of Modern Art and of course, NGV International.

There are plenty more art galleries located in and around Melbourne and Victoria - there is MARS Gallery, Geelong Gallery and Paradise Hills Art Gallery, just to name a few. So put your thinking caps on and let us know your favourite Melbourne art gallery by leaving a listing below; all suggestions of art mediums are welcome (painting, photography, sculpture, performing arts, printmaking, textiles, graffiti and multimedia) and all types of art galleries (public or private galleries, artist-run spaces, art centres, public art, street art and art museums).

We look forward to your suggestions.

I used to like the one on the corner of Glenferry Road in Malvern, but I believe that they have closed.
