An Italian establishment, Bertoni Casalinga is a Balmain institution although things can be a little bit hit and miss sometimes; however when their food and coffee is a hit; then you are in restaurant and Sydney food heaven. It is worth the gamble sometimes.

Although a little bit too milky for my liking, their cafe lattes are still divine with strong coffee aromas and flavours. Expect excellent customer service. The guys working behind the counter are always a laugh and are fantastic people. I really love their muffins; they're definitely well cooked which serves as a timely reminder not to bake any of your own on certain occasions.

Their food in general (from what I have tried) is well cooked and flavoursome with only high quality ingredients used (can tell with the taste); especially any of their chicken dishes. In saying this, there was an occasion when my schnitzel was a little dry; however Bertoni's is still an establishment worth coming back to for more and more. Awesome, fast and friendly service to boot.
