Rock'n'Roll In A G-String
Recently returned from a tour of Europe, the Bertie Page Clinic played at the Hi-Fi as part of the monster Creepshow line-up as part of Halloween celebrations. Blending caberet, burlesque, and rock music, this four-piece, affectionately known as "The Clinic", is headed up by Miss Bertie Page.

I'd purchased their most recent release, a nine-track offering titled "French Tickler", so was keen to check them out live. At Creepshow, they opened with the track "Rock & Roll is my Business Plan", where the lyrics describe a character rejecting the temptations of becoming a rich producer's mistress, they worked their way through to "My Sister's Friend's Cousin from Woodridge", a plea, threat and perhaps a promise of violent back-up against bullying attacks, and also performed the track "Ready To Punch Your Face", and kept the crowd captivated right through their 30 minute set.

With regular gigs in Brisbane, check them out for yourself. Gig listings on their Facebook here (don't forget to like them), check out their website here and buy "French Tickler" here.
