Bertha Brown Restaurant and Bar, located on the corner of Flinders Street and Spencer Street, is an unexpected low-key venue with a slightly classy atmosphere fit for any Tom, Jack or Harry.
The vintage furniture gives the place a unique, laid-back atmosphere without conforming to a trashy or overly hipster scene. Emerging from the cold streets of the city and into the warm and relaxed atmosphere is most certainly a dream come true this winter.
At odd hours, pizza's are a must at $5 a pop for those watching their wallets. If pizza isn't your thing however, you can choose from a large lunch menu Monday - Friday 12pm - 3pm.
As the sun begins to set, Bertha turns into more of a bar than a restaurant; the red candles are lit at every table, the bar tenders pour more drinks and a funky jazzy beat can be heard amongst the chatter.
Open Mic nights are held on Mondays, trivia on Wednesdays and KUYA & D'OPUS bring you a selections of Jazz, Funk and Bass on Fridays from 7pm. More information on Bertha's upcoming events can be found here.
