On your next trip down to Margaret River, make sure you save some time to spend at the Berry Farm. Found in the Rosa Glen Valley, the Berry Farm is surrounded by fruit orchards, a herb garden, an olive grove and a berry circle for visitors to enjoy. Enjoy a meal in the Cottage Cafe, feed the birds, let the kids run riot on the playground, and drop by the Cellar Door for some delicious homemade preserves, wines, syrups, sauces and more. If you can, I'd suggest going between November to March, when the berries are in season.

The Cottage Cafe is open for morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea from 10am to 4pm. Set in an old settler's cottage, they offer a variety of scrumptious desserts and lunch meals featuring their homegrown produce. Their scones with fresh strawberry jam and whipped cream are a particular specialty, and one I do recommend. Dine out in the blossoming cottage gardens, and spot some Splendid Fairywrens, New Holland Honey Eaters and Silver Eyes as they flutter around. You can even feed the birds; sugar is supplied, so simply tip some into your hand and hold your palm up in the air. The staff at the Cottage Cafe are very friendly, so if you're having trouble attracting the birds, don't hesitate to ask for advice - they know all the tips and tricks to it. Bookings are recommended for the Cottage Cafe if you plan on visiting on a weekend or a holiday.

The Cellar Door at the Berry Farm features a large range of jams, chutneys, fruit wines, liqueurs, vinegars, sauces, syrups available for purchase. They're open from 10am to 4:30pm, so you can stop by after visiting the Cafe. Take your time tasting what's on offer, while children can play happily in the kid's corner. All products are made on the Berry Farm, contain no artificial colourings, flavourings or preservatives and there are a range of gluten-free options. Depending on the time of year, you might also be able to pick up some avocados or quinces, grown nearby on the farm.
