I am always looking out for new experiences, wherever I may find myself.

Berowra Library is one of the smallest and least technologically-advanced of Hornsby Shire's libraries. It's also one of the most isolated. But there are still reasons to visit it; I drove here recently from Hornsby because it was the only one that had the books I wanted available.
The library is located in Berowra Community Centre. It's just a small room accessed through a door in the side of the building (and you don't even enter into it directly). As well as books, the library has a lot of other items, such as CDs and DVDs.
There aren't study rooms here, unlike at Hornsby library, and only a limited number of computers for public use (you can book one up to three days in advance if you need one). Technology is lacking all round actually; you can't scan your own books out. However, printing is possible and there's free Wi-Fi for any visitors, regardless of whether they're a member of Hornsby's libraries or not.
Because it's not a major library, it's not open as many hours as others; only fours hours each weekday and before and after lunch of Saturday. It also doesn't hold regular activities or special events such as story-time for kids or author talks.
What brought me such a long way out here was the fact that it had a whole lot of books I wanted to read, which were always borrowed elsewhere. It seems to stock the most popular books, but perhaps because there are less people competing for them, they're available more often (or at least when I wanted them). You can check the catalogue online here.
If you live in Berowra and this place is your local library, but can't find what you want here, you can easily your chosen item brought over from another library within the Hornsby Shire area for the small cost of $2.00. If those libraries don't have it, you can also get it from further away (this cost starts at $3.50).
There is a car park right outside Berowra Library, and more parking for the rest of the centre. Other reason people visit the Community Centre include the auditorium and conference rooms. The building is also surrounded by Berowra Park.
