In an informal Facebook poll by the
Rouse Hill Times ,
Bernie Mullane Reserve playground was voted best park in the area, and it is easy to see why!
The playground, which is located just outside of the Bernie Mullane Sports Complex (also part of the Bernie Mullane Reserve), has a little bit of something for everyone. Firstly, it is fully enclosed and offers extensive shade from recently added shade sales, perfect for those hot summer days.
Then there is the great equipment. There are options for all age groups, including a wheelchair accessible swing and a basket swing. There is heaps of climbing equipment, tonnes of slides, merry go rounds, a tunnel and see saws. The equipment is all clean and in very good condition.
There is a small bike track in the fenced, playground area and also a paved track (approximately 1.2 kms long) that runs around the complex (outside of the playground). Perfect for bikes/scooters or a nice walk.
To top it off, there is also a fenced dam within the complex that attracts ducks and geese. There is plenty of space for a picnic and loads of parking, as well as a cafe in the complex that has coffee, drinks, food and toilets.
Chairs and bins are available in the playground area. There is no bubbler, but you can fill up a water bottle within the sporting complex, or there are drinks available at the cafe.
While there, you might want to check out the reserve, which is one of the Hills Shire Council's largest sporting complexes. It features netball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, cricket pitches, picnic shelter with BBQ and basketball courts. It is a nice area to go for a wander around.
I hope you enjoy Bernie Mullane Reserve as much as I did.
