A spectacular spring day, the start of the school holidays and a decision to take a day trip to Noosa for a swim and fish and chips on the beach. After researching l find that "Kabana" is the place for great fish and chips, so after arriving at the Noosa Surf Life Saving Club, we find a perfect park in the shade and head to Hasting Street to check out the shops as we sought out Kabana.

Within minutes, we arrive at our destination and it appears Kabana is no longer here and another business has taken its place. As we are checking out this newbie, l notice Berardo's on the Beach, a restaurant with a fine reputation, which has set up a kiosk for takeaways. We select fresh reef fish, beer battered with fat cut chips and homemade tartare sauce and order one serving just to be safe and await the results.

Now, l know the image may not look all that spectacular, but l can assure you that when these were fresh and bagged, they were eye catching. l knew that l had found fish and chip nirvana! The issue was by the time l found the gang and perched my catch down to take a photo for this review, at the same time swatting the chip grabbing crowd that had gathered around, the dish was not captured in its finest form. But still it tasted so good; the homemade tartare was spot on and the fish was fresh and melt in your mouth, with the crunch of the beer batter perfectly light and not greasy or soggy.

We found a great spot yet again in the shade and overlooking the sand sculptor, l set off to order more of the same, after the first sampling was quickly devoured.

We decided to walk to Little Cove for our swim and as we arrived a Wedding was taking place. What a perfect setting; the couple walking with a white parasol along the beach whilst guests all sipped champagne and dipped their toes in the clear and refreshing spring time water's edge.
