I love visiting new and interesting places, trying different types of food and shopping for unique little things :)

My husband and I went to Beppi's on a Saturday night after reading much about it online. Located in Darlinghurst, this family run Italian restaurant was established in 1956.

We walked into a packed restaurant and were lucky to have a reservation. The restaurant was very cosy and they even had seating in their cellar which looked unique. Being a relatively small restaurant for the number of people dining there, we had to be careful to avoid knocking over someone's wine glass as we walked to our table.

We started our dinner with a wine from their very elaborate wine list and a Portobello field mushroom marinated in mixed herbs. The mushroom was divine and cooked to perfection. For our mains my husband ordered a fish dish while I went with a traditional pasta. My husband found the fish to be quite good though I will admit I was slightly disappointed with my pasta. While it was well cooked it was nothing special.

Overall, we felt Beppi's was a good Italian restaurant to visit at least once. The service was decent, and most of what we ate was quite good. However, considering the large number of fantastic Italian Restaurants in Sydney, Beppi's offered nothing special and is definitely not a restaurant for an intimate dinner for two.
