With its bright, colourful exterior, Bent Books certainly catches the eye. This second-hand bookstore has a distinct West End flavour: it's fun, it's different and it's exciting.

From looking around the store, you'll notice that these books aren't actually bent, they are in fact in wonderful condition. In here, you're able to buy second-hand without compromising on quality. There's a huge range of titles available and soon you'll realise that there's much more on offer than first meets the eye.

Through the back of the store there's a nice courtyard which seems blissfully removed from the noise and traffic of Boundary Street. Off to the side is a smaller building that contains the rest of Bent Books' collection.

Thrown into the mix are graphic novels, sheet music and rare and antiquarian ephemera (among other things), making Bent Books' collection one of the most diverse on offer in Brisbane. There's also a free book request service available through their website, making it easier for you to track down the book that you've been searching for.

Next time you're in West End, be sure to mosey on over to Bent Books. What with its stellar stock and cheery staff, I'm positive everyone will leave the store, if not with a book, with a smile.
